What To Expect At Your Visit

My practice of therapy entails wholistic care, within a working relationship, helping individuals toward transformation and healing. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the patient and caretaker alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behaviour and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy,
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), FLASH Technique (Advanced), Deep Brain Reorientation, and have a Certificate in Complex Trauma and Dissociation from Center of Advanced Studies in Trauma and Dissociation.

My approach is such that you will better understand and manage your experiences and work toward alleviating symptoms. It is impossible to know how long therapy will be; some individuals get what they want in 2 or three sessions, some more. You will decide what you want to work on and for how long.

If you like, we could have a 30 minute conversation on the phone or online where I can answer any questions and you can get a sense of who I am, before booking an appointment. At the first appointment I like to complete a mental health assessment, where you have an opportunity to let me know of your situation and expectations of therapy. From there we will determine a plan to work towards. Regular appointments are one-hour long, (EMDR) sessions are usually 90 minutes.
